We are heartbroken by recent events as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing impact to those who rely on the equestrian industry for their livelihoods. The health and safety of our SAHJA members is our utmost concern.
In keeping with recommendations from all major sporting organizations, USEF, USHJA, PCHA, NorCal and associations across the country, the Sacramento Area Hunter Jumper Association will suspend the sanctioning of all SAHJA classes for the next 30-days, beginning at midnight, March 16, 2020 and will remain in alignment with USEF timelines. Things remain very fluid and SAHJA will continue to monitor USEF guidelines. We understand that this decision might come as a disappointment to some, however, many of our members are impacted for various reasons, including “Shelter in Place” orders. Because of this, circumstances no longer provide our members fair and equal access to competitions. SAHJA will partner with impacted show managers to evaluate opportunities to recover shows later in the season, if possible. We have seen the SAHJA community band together in miraculous ways and we hope to see the same in the coming weeks. The SAHJA Board Comments are closed.
