“Best Ten” Horse Shows
Points earned for year-end awards will be based on a “Best Ten” system whereby the top ten point totals for a member in each division will be used for computing year-end awards. Exception: Walk-Trot 8 & Under, See Section J, No credit will be given for classes that are not judged or held in accordance with the Federation Rules and/or these Rules and specifications and points will not be awarded for year-end awards. Regardless of the number of exhibitors in a class having more than six participants, points will only be awarded to the top six placings. For year-end awards, the number of exhibitors in a class is determined by those entering and showing or attempting to show, not those exhibitors completing the class. Championship Show/Tie-Breaker Show [Section V.A]
Once a year, between the first full weekend in May and the last full weekend in September, there will be a Championship Show/Tie-Breaker Show. The purposes of this horse show is to showcase and promote the organization, act as a fundraiser for SAHJA, and to act as the 11th, or tie-breaker horse show. Points earned by any SAHJA member at this horse show will count in addition to her/his best ten horse shows. |
If two members still remain tied at the end of the year, then the member who attended the tie-breaker horse show will be the winner. If both attended the tie-breaker horse show, then the member earning the most points at the tie-breaker horse show will be the winner. If neither member involved in a tie attended the tie-breaker horse show, then the tie will stand and duplicate awards will be presented.
